Govt taking stern action against violators of Master Plan in Gulmarg, Sonamarg : Priya Sethi | KNO

Minister of State for Tourism, Priya Sethi, while replying to a question of legislator Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, informed the House that the government is taking stern action as per law against the violators of Master Plan in Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam. Giving details, the Minister informed that Pahalgam Development Authority has demolished 15 illegal constructions raised in violations of the Master Plan in Pahalgam, besides lodged 15 FIRs against these violators. Similarly, the Gulmarg Development Authority has taken action against 44 violators and has recovered 179 kanals and 19 marlas land from the encroachers, she added. The further Minister informed that 52 violations have been reported in Sonamarg related to construction of hotels and huts. The Department of Tourism is examining the issue and strict action would be taken against the violators, she added. Meanwhile, Minister for Revenue Abdul Rehman Veeri informed that the matter is also in consideration of Hon’ble High Court of Jammu and Kashmir through a PIL and it is also monitoring the violations of Master Plan at these places. Legislators Yasir Reshi, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Sofi Yousuf and Khursheed Alam also raised supplementary questions related to the main question.(KNO)
